The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said 39-year-old Sekou Phipps from St Mary Country Club, St Mary, died this morning in a vehicular crash that also left another man in critical condition at hospital.

It said: “Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that, about 4AM, Phipps was driving a Honda Civic motor car with a passenger aboard, along the Ocho Rios Bypass towards the town centre, when he allegedly lost control of the motor vehicle, which ran off the road and crashed into a tree.

“Phipps and the other man, who was a passenger in the motor vehicle, were taken to hospital, where Phipps was pronounced dead and the other man admitted,” the JCF further said.

It noted that the Ocho Rios Police are investigating.
