A resident of Sign Orange district in St James, who was reported missing on June 4, was found in an advanced state of decomposition in her community this morning, June 9.

Residents had been searching for 25-year-old Kimone Campbell since her disappearance.

All hopes of finding her alive were dashed when a search team found her dead in bushes about a mile from her home.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) told Jamaica Beacon that the victim’s throat was slashed.

“Reports are that, about 9:38am, residents stumbled upon the body of Campbell and summoned the police. Upon their arrival, Campbell’s body was found in bushes with her throat slashed. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue,” said the Corporate Communications Unit of the JCF.

It further stated that detectives attached to the Adelphi Police Station are investigating.
