Person of interest held for murder of MP
February 13, 2019The police Corporate Communications Unit said a male ‘person of interest’ has been held in relation to the murder of Portland East Member of Parliament Dr Lyndale Bloomfield, who is pictured above.
It further noted that the man is not being considered a suspect at this time, but detectives believe he may be able to assist them in their investigations.
He was held this morning, the police force further said while declining to divulge further information.
The parliamentarian, who is also a medical doctor, was found naked in his house at Paisley Gardens in Portland about 10:30 on the morning of February 2. He was stabbed several times.
