Fire destroyed a section of the building that houses the offices of the People’s National Party Member of Parliament for St Catherine South East, Colin Fagan.

The cause of the blaze, which started about 4 o’clock this morning, is yet to be ascertained.

The items damaged include thousands of dollars worth of equipment, furniture, and food.

The estimated cost of the property damaged is more than $2.5 million, a post on the parliamentarian’s social media page said.

It further stated that personnel from Waterford Fire Department were quick on the scene, and got the fire under control before it could spread to the main office building.
