UPDATE: St James safety officer shot dead in St Ann
February 17, 2019The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the Safety Officer shot dead near a hotel at Mammee Bay in St Ann is 43-year-old Joseph Gordon from Rough Road in Glendevon, St James.
It further said: “Reports from the St Ann’s Bay Police are that, about 6:55pm, residents heard explosions and summoned them.
“On the arrival of the officers, the body was seen with gunshot wounds. Gordon was taken to hospital where death was confirmed. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue,” added the JCF.

Meanwhile, residents told The Beacon that the Safety Officer was working at RIU Hotel where expansion works are underway.
It is said that he went off the hotel property to purchase something from vendors. While he was doing so, someone appeared in a white motorcar and shot him dead.
