Ochi cops find illegal gun, arrest man

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers in Ocho Rios seized a High Point Luger 9-millimetre pistol, along with three 9-millimetre cartridges yesterday, September 13, adding that a man was arrested and charged.

The accused is 26-year-old construction worker Jamie Stephenson from Mansfield Heights in Ocho Rios, St Ann.

He has been charged with the offences of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, between the hours of 2AM and 6AM, lawmen were on patrol when they saw Stephenson who aroused their suspicion. He was accosted, searched, and the firearm along with a magazine containing a round of ammunition found.

“A further search of his person revealed two additional 9-millimetre rounds of ammunition in his pocket. Investigations continue,” added the JCF.
