MONEAGUE: Wanted man nabbed; gun found in hut

Police charged a man with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following the seizure of a homemade shotgun and several rounds of ammunition at Harmonyvale district in Moneague, St Ann, today, August 16.

The accused is 25-year-old farmer Daveroy Francis from Harmonyvale.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the arrest was made by the Area Two Fugitive Apprehension Team.

It added: “Reports from the Claremont Police are that, about 12:45AM, the team was on operation in the area when a hut occupied by Francis was searched and the firearm and three 12-gauge cartridges found. Francis was subsequently arrested and charged.”

The JCF added that Francis was wanted for illegal possession of firearm and wounding with intent. His court date is yet to be announced.
