Trelawny youth killed in hit-and-run crash

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a woman from Trelawny is still in custody after she was arrested in the parish capital on Sunday (June 17) on suspicion of breaching the Firearms Act.

The JCF further said reports from the Falmouth police report that, about 7:30pm, a police team accosted the woman at a public event and searched a bag she was carrying.

The cops allegedly found a 9 millimetre pistol fitted with a magazine containing ten 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition.

The bag also contained marijuana weighing approximately one pound, the JCF further claimed, adding that arrangements are being made to have the woman interviewed in the presence of her lawyer.
