One of the best known women on the entertainment scene in St Ann, Samantha Herle, also known as Dog Rice, died in a motor vehicle accident on Saturday, November 3.

The late dancer, who also appears in several social media videos about sex and parties, was also the subject of a song done by St Ann young artiste Alwayne ‘Chippstar’ Moncrieffe.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said 19-year-old Herle from Runaway Bay in St Ann died as a result of injuries she received in the accident along Dolphin Cove main road in Ocho Rios.

It added: “Reports from the Ocho Rios Police are that, about 6:25am, the motor car transporting Herle was travelling from Ocho Rios to St Ann’s Bay.

“It is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit an embankment which resulted in Herle being thrown from the vehicle. She sustained several injuries and was assisted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment. The driver was not injured,” the JCF further said, adding that investigations are ongoing.
