ST CATHERINE: A number of civilians and police officers showed up at a nine night held in Lluidas Vale on Thursday, January 31, for a late police officer who gave 27 years of service to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Woman Constable Annmarie Lawrence, 52, passed away on 27 December 2018 after a period of illness. A younger version of her is shown in the photo above.
Constable Lawrence lived at Polly Ground in Ewarton, St Catherine, but was stationed at Shady Grove Police Station in Lluidas Vale up to the time illness forced her off the job.
The nine night took place at the building that, up to last month, was used as the temporary base for police in Lluidas Vale.
Among Constable Lawrence’s colleagues who The Beacon spotted in the crowd are Inspector Ishmael Williams, Sergeant Oliver Johnson, Corporal Yvette White Vassell, Constables Andre Allen and Kavaughn Williams, as well as District Constables Lora Lee and Gordon.
A number of other officers from in and around the Lluidas Vale police area also attended the event where people spent most of the time socializing, eating and drinking, playing games of dominoes, and listening to music.
The funeral service for Constable Lawrence will take place at 11 o’clock this morning, February 2, at the Charlemont Open Bible Church in Linstead, St Catherine. Interment will follow at Meadowrest Memorial Gardens in St Catherine.
