An elderly resident of Ferris district in Westmoreland was shot dead late last evening, February 9, according to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

The deceased is 85-year-old Constantine Parkinson.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 9:30pm, residents reported to lawmen that explosions were heard and they were summoned to the area. On their arrival, Parkinson was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

The Bluefield Police are investigating.
