Driver locked up for deadly crash

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a driver has been taken into custody for the death of a farmer at Highgate, St Mary, yesterday, April 26.

The deceased, pictured above, is 61-year-old Lloyd Williamson, from Main Street in Highgate. He is also known as Top Hill.

The JCF stated that Williamson died of injuries he received when he was hit by a car while in his community.

It added: “Reports from the Richmond Police are that, about 1:58PM, the driver of a Toyota Probox was reversing the vehicle when Williamson was hit. The police were summoned and he was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Toyota Probox was taken into custody.”

Investigations are continuing, added the JCF.
