Two male civilians were fatally shot and two guns recovered during what the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) described as a confrontation with police at Belmont district in Montego Bay, St James, yesterday, March 12.

One of the deceased is 36-year-old Keyon Wellington, also known as Scatta, who is an unemployed resident of Belmont.

The other man, who the JCF said is yet to be identified, is of dark complexion, slim build, and about five feet six inches tall.

The JCF further stated that the guns seized are one .45 pistol with a magazine containing three .45 cartridges, as well as one .38 revolver containing three .38 cartridges.

The Independent Commission of Investigations is probing the matter.
