The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said three men were shot dead and two other males wounded by unknown assailants at Maryland Road in Waterford, Portmore, St. Catherine.

The three Waterford residents killed in the attack yesterday, June 22, are:

  • Thirty-year-old Nicholas Douglas, otherwise called Shane, from Hopewell Road
  • Nineteen-year-old Brandon Beckford from Bianca Way
  • Thirty-seven year-old Marlon Boothe of Maryland Road

A 12-year-old boy and the other man who were wounded in the incident remain hospitalized.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Major Investigation Division are that, about 9:25PM, the males were among a group of persons playing games along the pathway.

“They were allegedly approached by armed men who opened gunfire hitting them. The police were summoned and they were taken to hospital where Douglas, Beckford and Boothe were pronounced dead and the two injured persons admitted in stable condition,” added the JCF, which noted that investigations are ongoing.
