Law enforcers seized 20 illegal guns and more than 700 rounds of ammunition at a terminal in Kingston on Tuesday, February 26, said the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF). Some of the weapons are pictured above.

The JCF stated that the seizure, which took place about 10 o’clock in the morning, include four high-powered rifles, one sub-machine gun, nine pistols, six revolvers, and 791 assorted rounds of ammunition.

It noted that investigations are ongoing, adding that the operation involved the police and the Contraband Enforcement Team of Jamaica Customs.

In the meantime, in October last year, law enforcers seized 26 guns and 641 rounds of ammunition during two related operations also at a wharf in Kingston. Arrests were made in relation to the find last year.
