Unidentified body found in Rio Cobre

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the body of a man was found in the Rio Cobre in St Catherine yesterday, June 10, adding that no foul play is suspected at this time.

The corpse is of dark complexion and medium build, is about 163 centimetres long, and appears to be in the late fifties.

It was clad in multi-coloured shorts.

The JCF, which is seeking help in identifying the body, said: “Reports are that, about 4:30PM, residents made the discovery and summoned the police.

“On arrival of the lawmen, the body was seen lying face down in the water. The scene was processed and it was removed to the morgue. The police are awaiting a post mortem to determine the cause of death,” added the JCF.

It stated that members of the public who may be able to assist in identifying the body should contact the Spanish Town Police at 876-984-2305, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
