Twins arrested after fire destroys mother’s house in Manchester

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a pair of twins is in custody following a fire that destroyed a house at Ebenezer district, Manchester, yesterday, July 26.

It said reports from the Newport Police are that, about 5pm, both men had a dispute with their mother at home.

“Shortly after [the dispute], fire was seen coming from a section of the house. The police were summoned, as well as a unit from the Mandeville Fire Station, who carried out cooling operations,” said the JCF, which noted that investigations are continuing.

It further stated that the loss is estimated at JA$6 million.

The house was not insured.
