The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a 25-year-old teacher, Tevin Smith, who is pictured above, died of injuries he received in a three-vehicle collision along the Lacovia main road in St Elizabeth this week.

Smith, who worked at Lacovia High School up to the time of his demise, is from Waterloo district in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 4pm [on December 5], Smith, who was a passenger in a blue Toyota Starlet, was travelling along the road when it is alleged that the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided into a white Toyota Probox and a grey Toyota Corolla.

“Eight people who were injured were taken to the hospital where Smith was pronounced dead,” added the JCF, which noted that investigations are ongoing.
