A St Catherine family is mourning the death of 17-year-old Aaron McCourty, who was gunned down in his Rio Cobre Drive community in the parish last evening, November 20.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Spanish Town Police are that, about 8:30pm, they were called to the community by residents who reported hearing gunshots.
“McCourty was found near his home suffering from gunshot wounds and assisted to hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” the JCF further said.
Although McCourty was murdered at Rio Cobre Drive, news of his demise sent shockwaves elsewhere in the parish, where some family members were seen in tears – too distraught to speak with the press.
The JCF is still investigating to ultimately apprehend and convict the criminals responsible for the homicide.
