Special entertainment zone ends in St James, businesses toldJuly 23, 2018
The Special Entertainment Zone, which was implemented in St James to facilitate the just-concluded Reggae Sumfest, has ended.
The parish has been under a state of public emergency, but, to facilitate the Reggae festival, the rules were relaxed as at July 15.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), in a media statement this afternoon, said the Special Entertainment Zone ended on July 22.
It added that the rules have been restored fully regarding closing hours for businesses, considering that the state of emergency remains in effect.
“The police are reminding the public to continue to cooperate with the members of the security forces as they carry out their lawful duties,” the JCF said.
It added that the closing times for businesses ARE:
Clubs and fast food restaurants – 2AM
Bars and taverns – 10PM
Petroleum stations – 11PM
Supermarkets, grocery shops and haberdasheries – 8PM
Pharmacies – 10PM
