The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said the persons who murdered party promoter Owen Clarke, also known as ‘Roy Fowl’ and ‘Fada Fowl’, were travelling on a motorcycle when they perpetrated the crime shortly before 12 o’clock last night, February 22.

It further told The Beacon that the murder unfolded at a party in Kencot, St Andrew.

Clarke, 62, is a resident of Wavell Avenue, Kingston 11.

The JCF, through its Corporate Communications Unit, further said: “Reports from the Half Way Tree Police are that, about 11:50PM, Clarke was a patron at a party when armed men travelling on a motorcycle opened fire hitting him several times. The police were alerted and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

Investigations are continuing, added the JCF.

The criminals escaped.

In the meantime, amateur videos show Clarke’s lifeless body lying in front a red Range Rover along a roadway lined with businesses.

It is attired in a black T-shirt, as well as black and white shorts.

“A wah dis inna Jamaica yah? A wah wi country gone to,” a woman at the scene lamented. Another onlooker is overheard saying that Clarke was shot in the head.

Clarke, in June 2004, was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment in England, after he was convicted for leading an international drug ring from his home in London at the time.

The court heard that he used women mainly from Jamaica as ‘mules’ to smuggle drugs from the Caribbean to Britain.

Clarke also headed the British Link Up Crew, which hosted a number of Dancehall events in Jamaica and Britain.
