Hanover man may be extradited for lottery scamming in US

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a 22-year-old electrician from Haughton Grove district in Ramble, Hanover, has been arrested on allegation of lottery scamming.

Oraine Gray is wanted on a Warrant of Extradition in the United States of America for the following offences:

– Conspiracy to commit mail fraud

– Conspiracy to defraud

– Attempted mail fraud

– Obtaining money by false pretence and

– Money laundering

The JCF said members of the Lottery Scam Task Force and Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team, supported by United States law enforcement officers, arrested Gray during a special operation between 5:30am and 8am yesterday, September 20.

It added: “Lottery scamming paraphernalia, including electronic devices and lead sheets, were seized during the operation.”

Gray is expected to be brought to court next week for an extradition hearing, the JCF further said.
