LLUIDAS VALE: Peacemaker dies in fight | post mortem crucial
September 15, 2018The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a post mortem on a woman who died Saturday (September 15) at Lluidas Vale in St Catherine will help determine how the matter is handled by detectives.
The deceased, Mary Patience, who is pictured above, is a resident of Union district in Lluidas Vale. She is a former janitor at Lluidas Vale Primary School.
The JCF Corporate Communications Unit told The Beacon that the late Patience struggled with a heart condition, and it is not yet clear if that is the cause of death.
It is also not yet clear if she died as a result of any injury she may have sustained during an altercation at her home moments before she died.
The JCF confirmed an earlier Beacon report that two of the woman’s male relatives were involved in a stone-throwing dispute at her home.
The woman tried frantically to bring the altercation to an end.
Residents said one of the stones missed target and struck her, but that claim is yet to be substantiated.
According to the JCF, there is no physical sign of injury on the woman’s body.
Meanwhile, amid the dispute, Patience was taken to a private doctor in Lluidas Vale, where she was pronounced dead. A police ‘Scene of Crime’ vehicle was seen outside the doctor’s office while the body was there.
The JCF told The Beacon that no one is in custody at this time, pending the result of the post mortem.
