LLUIDAS VALE: Barber hospitalized after nasty crashDecember 12, 2018
One of the most popular barber shops on Main Street in the community of Lluidas Vale, St Catherine, was closed today because its operator is in hospital nursing serious injuries.
Donovan Rhule, a 36-year-old barber from Lluidas Vale and Juan de-Bolas districts, suffered broken bones in a nasty crash that unfolded yesterday, December 11.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), through its Corporate Communications Unit, said the crash involved the barber’s 2017 Yeng Yeng red motorcycle and a brown 1995 Toyota Corolla motor car.
It happened on the main road between Top Hill and Lluidas Vale proper.
“The car was heading towards Lluidas Vale and came to a stop when the motorcycle that was travelling in the opposite direction ran into the car,” said the JCF.
However, some of Rhule’s relatives have refuted that version of what happened, adding that the police did not collect a statement from Rhule before arriving at a conclusion about the cause of the crash. They declined to say how the crash unfolded, and instead stated that Rhule may tell his story when he is well.
The mangled motorcycle, pictured above, is at the Shady Grove Police Station in Lluidas Vale.
Editorial note: This story has been updated to reflect the response from Mr Rhule’s family. One of his close relatives contacted before the initial story was published declined to comment.
