The National Water Commission (NWC) has indicated that some customers in and around the Linstead area of St Catherine have been experiencing water supply disruptions due to mechanical challenges.

The state-owned agency, in an advisory yesterday, explained: “The two facilities affected are the Jericho and Sligoville #1, 2, 3 and 4 which serve areas of White House, Banbury, Victoria, Orangefield, Jericho and sections of Linstead and the York Street Booster, as well as Keith Hall, Binns Close, Bottom Jackson, Bottom Kensington, Top Jackson Storage Tank and the Sligoville Booster Station #3.”

The NWC said restoration at the Jericho facility is expected on Friday (November 2) while the Sligoville system should return by November 12.

“Where possible, trucked water will be supplied to the affected areas,” it added. “The NWC regrets any inconvenience caused to its valued customers, and seeks to assure them that every effort is being made to restore normal water supply within the shortest possible time.”
