Almost two months after releasing his fifth album titled Make Space Fi Di General, veteran Dancehall artiste Jigsy King is raring to unleash his musical genius on patrons in the Linstead area of St Catherine.

He will perform at the St Catherine Jerk Fest, which will be headlined by Beenie Man at Dinthill Technical High School, from 10AM to midnight on Sunday, July 28.

It will be Jigsy King’s second appearance on a major show in Linstead in the last few months; his most recent being Sound Di Alarm Music Festival held in December.

The artiste, known for hits such as Haffi Get You Body and Butterfly, said patrons should expect some new songs as well as his usual top-notch performance.

“I will do all the hit songs, tell the people about the realest things going on in the [Linstead] community and Jamaica,” he told The Beacon, adding that the festival is a great addition to the calendar of events in the Linstead area.

“Linstead is always supporting things like this, and a festival like this at a champion school – Dinthill Technical High School, is a good look for the community and a good look for music – a good look for everything right now. We need more of this inside the community, but give thanks for this one.”

Jigsy King, a native of Kingston who attended Dinthill Technical High School and Kingston College, is not ruling out the possibility of a surprise appearance on the upcoming show by his musical partner, Tony Curtis.

“You just have to listen this album to know where real music is; mi naah talk bout nuh little joke thing,” added Jigsy King, whose real name is Errol King.
