Minister of National Security Dr Horace Chang has condemned the killing of 29 year-old Kashief Jackson and the death of her two infant children in Tower Hill, St Andrew.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), this afternoon, said the three were found dead on Wednesday (July 18) at their home.

It noted that the mother has multiple stab wounds, but it did not specify what may have caused the death of the children – Aviere and Aranza Williams.

Dr Chang, in a statement this afternoon, said: “The deaths of a mother, her 23-month-old toddler and 7-day-old infant child are grievous and alarming. I join with the community in rejecting this heartless and brazen act.”

“The deaths go against the fabric of our Jamaican society and undermine the sanctity of life and the potential of our nation’s youngest and most promising,” added Dr Chang.

He stated that the JCF will continue to examine the evidence and pursue all leads to bring the perpetrators of ‘this most heinous’ crime to justice.

The minister further stated that the government will have to intensify its efforts to address the issue of domestic violence.

He, in the statement that also touched on other murders, did not make any clear link between the deaths at Tower Hill and domestic violence.
