Relatives and friends in St Catherine and St Mary have expressed shock at the death of a young man, Warren Henry, who is being hailed as highly respectful and community orientated.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force said the body of the 35-year-old construction worker was found in a pit at his home at Industry Pen, Three Hill, St Mary.

It further stated that a post mortem is to be conducted to determine the cause of death.

The decomposing body of Henry, who relatives had reported missing, was discovered on Saturday (February 23), but it was not removed from the pit until the following day.

A spokesperson for the bereaved family who requested anonymity said it appears the father of two was chopped.

“My family is very heartbroken,” added the relative, who disclosed that the late Henry is originally from Lodge district in St Catherine, but had been living in the Three Hills area of St Mary for years.

“My cousin was a very kind and humble soul. He’s not one to make trouble with anyone. He’s always helpful and have a lot of respect for his elders and peers,” the family spokesperson further told The Beacon.

Meanwhile, in St Mary, residents said Henry worked hard in the community and volunteered with the Three Hills Farmers Association as well as the Three Hills Citizens Association.
