The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said it has charged a man in relation to 23 stolen goats, which were recovered while being transported along Hayes main road in Clarendon yesterday, August 4.

The man charged with larceny of goats is 29-year-old Derron Taylor from Hollywood Road, Phase II, in Hayes, Clarendon.

The JCF, in the meantime, appealed for the driver of the motor vehicle in which the goats were found to surrender at the nearest police station.

It said: “Reports are that, about 5:30pm, a team of officers signalled the driver of a Toyota Caldina motorcar to stop. He obeyed, but made his escape into a nearby community.

“The other occupant was arrested and charged in connection with the seizure,” the JCF said.

“Persons who have had their goats stolen are being asked to contact the Hayes Police at 986-5130 or visit the station between 8am – 5pm.”
