The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers continue to reap success under the ‘Get the Guns Campaign’ with the removal of three firearms, along with 224 rounds of ammunition, from the nation’s streets.
It said reports are that, about 11:30 yesterday morning, officers carried out a special operation on Gordon Crescent in Granville, St James, where an unoccupied house was searched.
The JCF added: “The heave of the roof was searched which resulted in a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol along with sixty-three .40 cartridges, a Smith and Wesson 9 millimetre pistol along with sixty-eight 9 millimetre cartridges, sixty-four 5.56 cartridges and two magazines were found in a lunch bag.”
The JCF further stated that, minutes later, the police found a Ruger 9 millimetre pistol, along with twenty-nine 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition, at a perimeter fence.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizures, the JCF further said, adding that investigations are continuing.
