The celebration of Charlemont High School’s 40th anniversary hits high gear this weekend when students of the Linstead-based school host a major bingo party and banquet respectively on Friday and Saturday.

President of the Charlemont High School Past Students Association, Onenetta LaBeach, has urged members of the community to throw their support behind the events being held to celebrate the institution, which has contributed immensely to its community and country.

“I want to encourage all past-students and members of the community to come out and celebrate with us,” she told Jamaica Beacon.

Several prizes will be up for grabs on Bingo Night, which will be held at Ewarton Community Centre in St Catherine on Friday, July 6. Admission is free, and cash prize is US$500.

Meanwhile, the 40 Anniversary Gala and Banquet is to be held on the school grounds at 7pm on Saturday, July 7. The entry fee for this event is JA$3000.

Other events being held to celebrate the anniversary includes a beach trip tomorrow (July 5) to St Ann, as well as a general meeting at the school this evening at 7 o’ clock.

A number of other events, which were part of the week-long celebration, already passed.
