Boy not yet charged | Saunders was found in pool of blood
June 8, 2018While noting that the 13-year-old boy nabbed in relation to the death of a nine-year-old girl in Westmoreland is yet to be charged, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a post mortem is to be conducted today on the body of the deceased.
Initial media reports regarding the crime said it appeared Kadijah ‘KC’ Saunders was strangled.
The official JCF report said the deceased was found in bushes in a pool of blood – a declaration that gives a clearer picture of how Saunders may have died.
“Reports are that, about 10:30pm, residents saw the body and summoned the police. On their arrival, Saunders was seen lying on the ground in a pool of blood,” the JCF said, adding that the young resident of Bog was pronounced dead at hospital.
When contacted today, June 8, the Corporate Communications Unit of the JCF told The Jamaica Beacon the scheduled post mortem exercise will help in deciding how the police proceed.
The Unit further stated that efforts are also being made to secure legal representation for the boy in custody.
Both the victim and the suspect are from the community of Bog and were enrolled at the same school – Newworks Infant and Primary.
