The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a team of officers in Trelawny seized a firearm and three rounds of ammunition during an operation on the Ulster Spring main road yesterday, July 17.
The law enforcers also took six men into custody in relation to the seizure.
The JCF explained: “Reports from the Ulster Spring Police are that, about 9:40pm, lawmen were in the area when they signalled the driver of a Nissan AD wagon with six men aboard to stop. He complied.
“The vehicle along with the men were searched, and one silver and black Ruger .45 pistol with a magazine containing three .45 rounds of ammunition was discovered,” added the JCF.
It stated that the identities of the men in custody are being withheld, pending further investigations. File photo
