5 vehicles stolen at Buju’s show | 2 recovered
March 18, 2019Police are still searching for three of the five motor vehicles that were stolen during the Long Walk To Freedom concert held at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday, March 16, in honour of Reggae artiste Mark ‘Buju Banton’ Myrie who recently was released from prison in the United States.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: ‘Reports are that five motor vehicles were stolen – two of which have since been recovered. There was also an incident of a car being broken into and its personal items stolen.”
The JCF, which noted that the vehicles were stolen at undesignated areas, implored persons to use only designated parking lots.
“The police are appealing to motorists to always utilize designated car parks when attending any event in order to lower the risks of theft or damage to their vehicles and its contents,” it said.
The JCF further stated that anyone with information about the theft should contact the Stadium Police at 876-946-1831, police emergency 119 numbersor the nearest police station.
