Two men died as a result of either chopping or stabbing in separate incidents over the weekend in the Corporate Area, according to information from the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

In the latter incident, which unfolded yesterday (December 30), a man who is now in police custody allegedly stabbed 28-year-old Shamari Pusey, otherwise called Papa, from Chestnut Lane in Kingston 14.

The JCF said: “Reports are that, about 8:10am, Pusey and another man were involved in a dispute when a knife was used to inflict several wounds to Pusey. The police were summoned and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The perpetrator was subsequently taken into custody.”

Meanwhile, the JCF stated that the other incident happened on December 28 in Cassava Piece, Kingston 8.

The deceased is 23-year-old Mark Harris, otherwise called Bobo.

The JCF explained: “Reports are that, about 4:30pm, a man went to the Constant Spring Police Station and reported that he had chopped a man several times all over the body. Lawmen went to investigate when the body of Harris was found. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue. The suspect is currently in custody.”

The police, who did not disclose the identities of the men in custody for the respective murders, noted that investigations are ongoing.
