Bar operator, student shot dead

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said a bar operator and a corporate area male student were shot dead last evening (May 13) on Greenvale Road at 9 Miles in Bull Bay, St. Andrew.

The deceased are 55-year-old Garland Reece who is otherwise called Ann, and 15-year-old Jevaughn Morris – both from Greenvale Road in the parish.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Elletson Road Police are that, about 8:50PM, Ms Reece and Jevaughn were among other persons inside a yard where her bar is also located.

“A man allegedly approached and ordered an item from the bar. Shortly after, explosions were heard and the police summoned. On arrival of the lawmen, Ms Reece and Jevaughn were seen with gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at hospital,” added the JCF.

It noted that investigations are continuing.
