A social media personality from Linstead in St Catherine is still in shock after the body of her boyfriend was found in one of Linstead’s most troubled communities – Banbury.
The deceased is 20-year-old Kaleave Thomas, the fruits vendor and construction worker pictured above. His body was found lying on the back at the side of an unpaved roadway, which he often used. There are a number of houses in the area.
Thomas originally is from the Brown’s Hall area of the parish, but had been living with relatives at Vanity Fair in Linstead.
In recent months, he had been in an intimate relationship with social media personality Shana-kay Hanson, who uses the moniker ‘Itsthickiana’.
He often visited her at her residence in Banbury – and it appears that’s what he was doing at the time his life was snuffed out.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), in a press release, said residents contacted the police after hearing explosions. “Upon the arrival of the lawmen [at the scene], Thomas was seen in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to the head. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is on-going.”

In addition to having what the JCF described as gunshot wounds, a section of Thomas’ head appears bashed in. A stone also was seen beside the head.
It is said that Thomas, on Saturday night, went to another community in Linstead – Victoria – to visit a friend who is mourning the death of a loved-one.
After leaving that location, he apparently travelled on foot through a short cut that brought him back to Banbury district where his girlfriend lives. But he did not make it to her house.
She told The Beacon that she was stunned when another resident alerted her Sunday morning about a body that had been found in the community. When she went to the scene, she realized that the deceased is her boyfriend.
She said she had cautioned Thomas against traveling in Banbury at night, adding that, when he did not show up at her house Saturday night, she thought that he had gone to his relatives’ residence at Vanity Fair.
She also recalled calling his phone about 2AM Sunday and getting no answer.
“He is very gentle, loving, respectful and kind. He is also very hard-working,” she told The Beacon, adding that her boyfriend mainly earned a living by buying fruits and selling them outside Linstead – at Portmore, Washington Boulevard and Half Way Tree. “When the fruits not in season, he does construction work.”
