A search team discovered the body of 16-year-old Christopher Wellington along the coast of the Alligator Pond beach on Wednesday, April 24.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said: “Reports from the Alligator Pond Police are that, on Monday, April 22, Wellington and his family members were swimming at Port Keiser River when he left to swim in the adjoining sea and later disappeared. The police and members of the Marine Division were contacted and a search conducted, to no avail.”

The JCF further stated that, about 11:45AM yesterday, the search party comprising the Alligator Pond Police, local fishermen, and family members found the corpse.

It was removed to the morgue for a post mortem examination, added the JCF.
