5 men arrested for gun found in Old Harbour Bay

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said its officers in the St Catherine South Police Division seized one firearm and arrested five men during an operation on Settlement Road in Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine.

It added: “Reports from the Old Harbour Bay Police are that, about 11PM [on March 22], lawmen signalled the driver of a Toyota Probox with five men aboard to stop.

“The driver compiled and, during a subsequent search, one 9 millimetre pistol with a magazine containing fourteen 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition was found,” added the JCF.

It said the identities of the five men in custody are being withheld, pending further investigation.
