The driver allegedly swerved to avoid hitting a manhole, but lost control of the JDF vehicle, which crashed into a utility pole.

Lewis fell from the vehicle and suffered serious head injuries.

He was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital, and later transferred to a medical facility in the Corporate Area where he was pronounced dead a few hours before daybreak today.

Lewis is a former Deputy Head Boy of Marcus Garvey Technical High School in St Ann. He graduated from that institution in 2015.
