Linstead achiever promises continued success

Camethia Campbell has promised to continue producing good grades as she prepares to start classes at St Andrew High School for Girls in the corporate area in September.

The aspiring microbiologist, who lives in the Charlemont Farm Scheme area of Linstead in St Catherine, has been a honour roll student over the years.

“Expect nothing but continued success – straight A’s from me,” she asserted in an interview with Jamaica Beacon.

She attained a 91.86 percent average this year in the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT).

“I feel extremely pleased with my grades; I did exceptionally well,” said the 11-year-old who got a perfect score in Language Arts.

Her success is being attributed partly to the help she received from educators at Linstead Primary School in St Catherine – especially her GSAT teacher Sandrea Slabon-Cox.

Camethia’s parents, Carlton Campbell and Carlene Forrester-Campbell, are convinced that their daughter is poised for even more success.

“I was certainly not surprised about her grades – elated and overwhelmed yes, knowing that we worked tirelessly with her,” the mother said.

“I must thank especially her Grade Six teacher, Mrs Cox, who is a very dedicated teacher. I know Camethia has great potential and is destined for greatness.”

Mrs Forrester-Campbell, who teaches at Charlemont High School in Linstead, said her daughter works hard, and that motivates the parents to continue giving their all.

“Her hard work has paid off,” she said.

“We will continue to support her in all her endeavours as we have always been doing.”
