4 high-powered rifles seized in St James
March 22, 2019The security forces seized four high-powered rifles and detailed 10 people in relation to the seizure made at Salt Spring, St James, within a 24-hour period, said the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).
It explained that, in relation to the first find, which took place yesterday, March 21, the law enforcers seized an M16 rifle at Dooney’s Corner in the said community.
“Reports are that, about 7:35AM, a joint police/military team conducted an operation in a section of the community, during which the rifle was found. No one was arrested in connection with the seizure,” the JCF said.
It further stated that, in the other operation about 7 o’clock this morning, the security forces found three rifles and 137 assorted rounds of ammunition at Bucktoe Lane, Salt Spring.
The weapons seized are:
- One KM Tactical AR15 rifle
- One Colt Carbine M16 rifle
- One Anderson KM AM15 rifle
The ammunition is broken down as follows:
- Sixty-eight 5.56 rounds
- Fifty-nine .223 rounds
- Ten 9 millimetre rounds
Four magazines were also seized.
