VIDEO: Two die in Clarendon crashes

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said two residents of Clarendon died in separate crashes in the parish yesterday, July 18.

One incident happened in Chapelton; the other transpired at York Town.

In the Chapelton incident, the victim is 28-year-old farmer Denroy Duncan from Cross Road district in the parish. He was celebrating his birthday at the time his motor car collided into a concrete column on Chapelton main road.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Chapelton Police are that, about 2:54PM, Duncan was driving his Toyota Corolla motor car along the roadway when he allegedly lost control of the vehicle and collided into a concrete column. He sustained several injuries and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.”

In the other crash, the deceased is 59-year-old Leslie Barrett from York Town. She died after the vehicle in which she was travelling crashed with a truck on York Town main road.

The JCF disclosed: “Reports from the Four Paths Police are that, about 4:04AM, Barrett was travelling in a motor car when it collided with a motor truck travelling in the opposite direction. She sustained multiple injuries and was taken to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries while being treated.”

Investigations are ongoing in relation to both incidents, the JCF further said.
