Teacher murdered on Teachers Day

It was a sad Teachers Day for some members of the profession.

They woke up to news that gunmen murdered one of their colleagues, 35-year-old Clevon Campbell, during a home invasion shortly after 3 o’clock this morning, May 8.

The incident happened at the teacher’s Westmeade residence in Bridgeport, St Catherine.

The educator was employed to Belmont Park Primary School at Portmore – also in St Catherine.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said Campbell was at home with relatives when he was shot and killed and a relative shot and wounded.

The police were called and Campbell, along with the wounded teen, was taken to hospital.

Campbell was pronounced dead while the teen was admitted in serious condition.

Investigations are ongoing.
