Taximan shot dead, 7-year-old daughter in serious condition

Police are probing the shooting death of a man and the wounding of his seven-year-old daughter at Lloyds district in Yallahs, St. Thomas, this morning, May 5.

The deceased is 35-year-old taxi operator Jermaine Kelly from Lloyds district.

The JCF said: “Reports from the Yallahs Police are that, about 3:40AM, Kelly was alerted by a fire at his doorway. While extinguishing the blaze, he was reportedly greeted with gunfire by armed men.

“The police were summoned and, upon their arrival, Kelly and his daughter were seen with gunshot wounds. They were taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead and the little girl admitted for treatment. She is in serious condition,” the JCF further said.

It stated that anyone with pertinent information should contact the Yallahs Police Station at 876-982-5075, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.
