An easy-going man, who pounded the pavements for several years to sell shoes in rural communities such as Point Hill and Lluidas Vale in St Catherine, has died tragically.

He is 70-year-old Zacharia Brown, better known as Shoesy. He is relatively tall and is of dark complexion and slim build.

Brown, who lived at Fairfield district in Point Hill, died in a motor vehicle crash on the Guanaboa Vale Main Road in St Catherine shortly after 1PM on Thursday, November 21.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) told The Beacon that Brown was a passenger in a blue Toyota Hiace minibus, which crashed into a parked motor vehicle.

“The driver of the minibus reportedly passed out and lost control of the vehicle. It collided with a white motor vehicle that was stationary,” the JCF said.

It stated that the driver of the blue minibus in which Brown was travelling is ‘okay’, adding that the police are conducting further investigations.
