Hugh Graham, who is representing the People’s National Party (PNP) in St Catherine North West, undertook a variety of projects in the seat on Labour Day, Thursday, May 23.

He, along with his team, completed the transformation of Fletcher’s Avenue – outside Linstead Market, where relatively large piles of garbage once existed. That eyesore has been replaced with tyres containing flowers. The beautification aspect of the project happened on Labour Day, but the garbage removal took place a few days earlier.

Graham also journeyed to the Trinity area of Linstead where construction of a house commenced for Ronald ‘Privy’ Clarke. The house will be completed at a later date, Graham said.

He, in his capacity as Councillor for the Lluidas Vale Division, oversaw the completion of a comprehensive clean-up and beautification of Lluidas Vale Cemetery, which had not been cleaned for a protracted period of time. Graham noted that this is not a PNP project. “[This is] not a PNP Labour Day project; I am the Councillor for the Division,” he told The Beacon.

The cemetery clean-up commenced a few days after Joel Williams of the Jamaica Labour Party announced that it would have been his Labour Day initiative. He switched focus after the project was otherwise done.

Graham, in the meantime, was also scheduled to undertake Labour Day work in the Ewarton and Treadways Divisions of the constituency.
