Chairman of the Clarendon Municipal Corporation Winston Maragh has promised to establish a fire station in Clarendon Northern if his party’s candidate, Dwight Sibblies, wins the seat in the next general election.

He made the promise while addressing the constituency conference held by the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) at Kellits Primary School on Sunday, November 3.

Maragh, who also is the Mayor of May Pen, indicated that he already had discussion with Councillor for Kellits Division Noel ‘Pallo’ Nembhard (JLP) about the fire station plan.

“I was discussing with Pallo and, as soon as Dwight Sibblies becomes the next Member of Parliament, we are going to work – the Clarendon Municipal Corporation will be working with Dwight Sibblies to put a new fire station right at the old Public Works Office,” Maragh told the gathering.

Residents, for years, have been clamouring for the establishment of a fire station in the fast-developing town of Kellits. The nearest fire stations to the town are several miles away.
