LLUIDAS VALE: Body of murdered man found near burnt-out car

August 1, 2019 0 By Horace Mills

The charred remains of a man, along with a burnt-out motorcar, has been discovered in bushes in the Lluidas Vale area of the St Catherine North Police Division.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force, through its Corporate Communications Unit, told The Beacon that the identity of the deceased man is yet to be verified.

It further stated that the Shady Grove Police in Lluidas Vale are unable to give details. That’s because officers from that police station, at publication time, had just arrived at the scene and were awaiting the arrival of crime scene detectives.

The body was found about 8:30AM today, August 1, lying face-down in bushes a relatively short distance away from the motorcar.

Although most of the body has been roasted, a pair of white sneakers was still in tact on the man’s feet.

The car was parked on the side of a deserted roadway, which runs through the canefield at Worthy Park Sugar Estate in Lluidas Vale.

The gruesome discovery, in the meantime, brings back memories of similar finds in the general area in recent times.

On April 18 last year, residents found a body with multiple stab wounds in a gully along the Tydixon main road, near Lluidas Vale. The deceased was later identified as Hyman Troy Salmon, a 25-year-old mason from Pitfour in Granville, St James.

On April 28 last year, passers-by stumbled upon another body; that of a young man. It had several gunshot wounds and was found in a canefield along the Point Hill main road, also in the Lluidas Vale police area. The deceased was later identified as Ricky Ricardo Mitchell, otherwise called Ratty, from Lime Tree district in another section of St Catherine.
