Two schools from Linstead in St Catherine – McGrath High and Dinthill Technical – will face different rivals today (November 13) in the two semi-final clashes of the ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup Football Competition.

Both matches will be played at the Montego Bay Sports Complex in St James.

In the first encounter, McGrath will square off with defending champion Clarendon College at 4PM. This is the first time that McGrath High is passing the first round or the contest. The second match, which will be played at 6PM, will feature Dinthill Technical and Cornwall College. Dinthill won the title twice – in 1979 and 1981. Cornwall College, on the other hand, won the overall competition on 12 occasions – in 1953, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1963, 1982, 1983, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2016.

The final of the daCosta Cup, featuring the two winners from the matches today, will take place on November 30 at Montego Bay Sports Complex.

In relation to another competition, Cornwall College and Clarendon College are the only daCosta Cup teams that have made it to the semi-final of the Champions Cup. They will square off in one Champions Cup semi-final match on the afternoon of November 16.
